Students use the computer to improve learning, productivity and performance while developing a range of technology skills.  We use a variety of programs from spreadsheets to graphics to databases and more.

COMPUTER EXPLORERS provides schools with technology programs that exceed technology standards. Our computer classes directly integrate current classroom subject matter with computer lessons. COMPUTER EXPLORERS teachers meet regularly with classroom teachers to develop lesson plans in science, language arts, social studies and mathematics. We challenge our students to create projects that make use of multiple technology skills including:

Featured Course: 'It's a Small World" Digital Microscopes
Computer Explorers® is currently offering Science and Technology programs utilising the digital microscope to enhance learning.
Children are introduced to the scientific method and follow this to solve a different problem each week.
Children are taught how the Microscopes work and communicate with the computers and are given different roles to play in each team activity.
Programs run from 6 to10 weeks and are designed to help children in years 3-6 better understand the use of Digital Microscopes in investigating the world around them.

The programs provide these NSW curriculum framework Science and Technology outcomes:
• Recognise that investigations may be conclusive/inconclusive.
• Identify investigations which involve discoveries leading to unexpected
  outcomes.
• Describe the process of investigation which can involve exploring and
  discovering phenomena and events, proposing explanations, initiating
  investigations, predicting outcomes, testing, modifying and applying
  understanding.
• Make detailed observations using appropriate technologies.
• Exhibit self direction in their own learning.
• Show flexibility and responsiveness to ideas and evidence.
• Work cooperatively in groups
• Be curious about and appreciate the natural and man made
  environment.

 

Each class is taught by a qualified teacher and all materials, including laptops and the microscopes are brought to each class.
Class teachers are encouraged to participate in the class, however this is not a necessity.
Price: $130 per 1 hour class (up to 25 children)
