Key Points: Courses are project-based & designed for FUN. The courses are designed to further students exploration of technology as an application tool for use in education, business, and art.
TechStars relates to the study of the engineering and/or applied computer science/technology:
- from simple to compound machines and systems
- engineering in relation to technology to include introduction to physics & electrical engineering, programming, & robotics
- projects include hands-on applications of engineering principles with systems, models and structures as the end product
- a skill-building tool to support general educational disciplines(reading, math, science, social studies)
- problem solving based skill practice, without drill & practice, to build creative and organised thinking skills
- projects may thematically relate to software themes or provide hands-on practice with general educational disciplines. (e.g. language arts - write and illustrate a story; math - create your own hands-on math puzzles, science - illustrate the water cycle, social studies - mapmaking)
